"My ID Is Gangnam Beauty" Cast Shower ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo With Compliments
On July 26, JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty” held a press conference with its writer, director, and cast.
Im Soo Hyang, who plays the female lead and titular role, shared, “I’m playing a woman in her 20s and I feel good being able to film with these young actors.”
About ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, the male lead and her character’s love interest, she said, “He’s a very smart guy. He prepares a lot, and with every day of filming, I can see both Eun Woo and Kyung Suk growing and maturing together. I feel good whenever I see that. It’s good now, but I think it will be even better going forward.”
She also said, “The character he plays is known as a really handsome guy, so there couldn’t be any casting better than this. Isn’t he famous for being a ‘face genius’ in real life? He’s so cool and good-looking that I felt intimidated at first, but he fits so well with the character of Do Kyung Suk that I am having fun while filming.”
Later, when the cast was asked about the “key points” of the drama, Kwak Dong Yeon said, “Young people in their twenties trying to step out into society for the first time, despite being incomplete in a lot of ways, coming into conflict with each other, hurting each other and healing each other, is an important theme of the show.”
He added playfully, “Another key point is Eun Woo’s face. The other key point is his face. The last point is also his face.”
“My ID Is Gangnam Beauty” is about a girl who gets severely bullied for her looks as a child and decides on plastic surgery to embrace a new lifestyle in college, but finds that it’s not all that she expected. It will premiere on July 27.
