Sung Yuri In Talks To Appear In New SBS Drama

Sung Yuri may be making her drama comeback!

On July 27, a source from the drama industry said, “Sung Yuri will appear in SBS’s ‘The Last Empress.'”

In response, Sung Yuri’s agency SL ENT stated, “SBS’s newest drama ‘The Last Empress’ is one of the dramas that Sung Yuri has received an offer for and is currently reviewing.”

If the actress were to appear in the drama, it would be her first TV drama in two years since MBC’s “Monster.”

Sung Yuri has been offered the role of the imperial family’s spokeswoman Min Yu Ra, who beat out fierce competition to enter the palace with her beauty and skills. Her diligence and perfection are her biggest weapons, and she has the ability to make any boss feel as if they can’t do anything without her.

“The Last Empress” will take place in 2018, but with the pretense that it’s an era of constitutional monarchy. It is the story of a musical actress who gets married to an emperor. After fighting against the absolute power of the palace, she’ll use the murder of the queen dowager as an opportunity to destroy the imperial family in her search for true love and happiness.

The drama will be directed by Joo Dong Min of “Return” and written by Kim Soon Ok of “Temptation of Wife,” “Jang Bo Ri is Here,” and “My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol.”

“The Last Empress” is set to premiere in November on SBS.
