Sizzlin' Style: 7 Of BLACKPINK's Latest And Hottest Performance Looks
BLACKPINK has been serving us some serious fashion realness every time they return with new music, but their promotions for “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Forever Young” are particularly extra. They embarked on a dual concept of fierce/edgy and bright/fun, and their styles portrayed these images very clearly. Now that they’re moving on from the stage to doing more variety show appearances and out-of-Korea promotions, we look back at some of their best performance outfits:
Glam and sparkles
For one of their first live comeback stages, an impactful ensemble is in order, and there’s nothing more powerful than the ultra glam pieces that showed that they have finally arrived. Jennie’s sparkling midriff top paired with fishnet stockings, Jisoo’s big sequins (check out her silvery socks), Lisa’s pink thigh high booties that matched her shorts and contrasted with her neon green gloves, and Rosé’s fringed, beaded top — their cohesive look indicated that it is indeed their time to shine.
Classic and casual
This look is a bit more laidback and street, while still maintaining their cool, chic concept. They wore the perfect combination of classic whites and dressed it down with denim. As you’ll see in the next styles, Jennie is always dressed up consistently in edgy boudoir-inspired outfits, while Lisa is always the effortlessly cool one with her trademark boots. Jisoo and Rosé mix it up with their more feminine and street styles.
Signature pink
Of course, their stages would not be complete without their namesake color, which is pink. Here they managed to make this otherwise soft color an edgy tone in contrast. They look like princesses, but they’re definitely no damsels in distress and they don’t need saving. There are quite a few unexpected pieces that the stylist added here to elevate their overall group look and keep it from being too monotonous: Jennie’s ruffled tube top and lace gloves, Rosé’s ruched dress, Lisa’s baggy pants and satin gloves, and Jisoo’s pink leg harness, which stood out particularly.
Playful chic
The stylists surely kept their stage outfits interesting and always kept the fans feeling excited to see what’s next. For this look, they didn’t have one theme but somehow everything looked cohesive together. It will only be a matter of time before Lisa’s convertible shorts-pants combo will trend and hit the streets, and perhaps it already has. We also get to see Jennie in a cute ponytail. And this time it’s Rosé’s turn to wear thigh high boots, while Jisoo’s braided and bobby pin accessorized hair is also something fresh and new.
A touch of fierce and sexy
BLACKPINK members always know how to carry and show off the right amount of skin while still looking classy, and this comeback is proof of that. This is perhaps one of their most daring concepts yet, where they explored more skin-baring and form-fitting styles, which are mixed and matched with more wearable pieces (Jisoo’s feminine styles balanced everything out). It is summer after all, so skin is in!
In one of their live stages, they wore an animal-print inspired wardrobe that showed off their fierce side.
Sporty style
“Forever Young” is more free-spirited, bright, and catchy, which is perfect for the summer. They debuted the song with a sporty uniform look with varying cuts and styles for each member.
Burst of colors
Showing off their friendly and lively charms is a more colorful wardrobe that matched the upbeat vibe of their song. The stylist infused high fashion designer pieces with street brands and made each look unique and more modern. We’re looking forward to what fashion forward outfits these talented and stylish girls will serve us next!
