Lee Jang Woo Confirmed To Reunite With Uee In Upcoming Drama
Lee Jang Woo will be starring in his first drama since his discharge from the military.
The actor, who recently signed an exclusive contract with Hunus Entertainment, will be starring in KBS’s upcoming weekend drama “The Only One On My Side” (literal translation). He will be reuniting with his former “Music Bank” co-MC Uee, and will also be working with Choi Soo Jong.
“The Only One On My Side” is about Kim Do Ran (played by Uee) whose life gets turned upside down when her biological father appears after 28 years, and tells her why he had to hide his identity. The drama will explore the idea of finding hope after meeting “The Only One On My Side.” It is written by writer Kim Sa Kyung, who also wrote “Likable or Not,” “Loving You a Thousand Times,” My Love By My Side,” “Here Comes Mr. Oh,” and “Blow Breeze.” It will be directed by Hong Seok Gu, who previously directed “Marry Me, Mary!” “Cheer Up, Mr. Kim!” “Golden Cross,” “Perfect Wife,” and “Girls’ Generation 1979.”
Lee Jang Woo will be playing Wang Dae Ryuk, the handsome director of Wang Ho Foods. Though he has a gentle personality, he also harbors ambitions and high hopes as the successor to Wang Ho Foods. This will be his third collaboration with writer Kim Sa Kyung, as he appeared in “Here Comes Mr. Oh” and “Rosy Lovers.”
The actor shared, “As I have experience working with the writer as well as my co-star Uee, as emcees on ‘Music Bank,’ I feel a bit different going into this drama. Since it is my first drama since my discharge, I will film energetically. I will work hard to have my character’s individual color shine in the drama.”
“The Only One On My Side” is slated to air after “Marry Me Now” and will air its first episode on September 15.
