Yeo Jin Goo In Talks To Lead Drama Adaptation Of Film "Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King"
Viewers may be seeing more of Yeo Jin Goo in the near future!
On August 8, it was reported that the actor would be leading a drama remake of the historical film “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King” as the characters Gwanghae and Haseon, both played by Lee Byung Hun in the film. His agency Janus Entertainment responded to the reports by stating, “It is true that Yeo Jin Goo has received an offer to appear in the drama. However, nothing has been decided yet and he is currently looking over the script.”
The film “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King” was released in 2012 and was a big hit, attracting over 12.3 million moviegoers in total. The star-studded cast included Lee Byung Hun, Ryu Seung Ryong, and Han Hyo Joo.
The drama remake will tell the story of people considered the lowest in society and their fight against a world that values wealth and status above all else. Their convictions are based on their belief that love will overcome all obstacles created by societal ranks and customs. The producing director (PD) who will oversee the drama will be Kim Hee Won, whose latest project was MBC’s “Money Flower,” and the drama is set to premiere on tvN in January 2019.
