Joo Ji Hoon In Talks To Lead New MBC Drama Based On Webtoon Series
Actor Joo Ji Hoon may be returning to the small screen soon!
It was reported on August 8 that the actor was slated to lead the upcoming MBC Monday-Tuesday drama “The Item.” It was added that the drama is scheduled to begin filming this year and air in early 2019.
His agency KeyEast was reached for comment and a source from the agency confirmed that Joo Ji Hoon had been contacted about the drama. However, they emphasized that nothing had been confirmed yet as they added, “It is one of the offers he is currently looking over.”
“The Item” is based on a webtoon series of the same name and is set to be a mystery fantasy drama following the story of a police profiler and a prosecutor as they attempt to uncover the secrets behind objects that have special powers of protection. If Joo Ji Hoon accepts the offer, he will play the leading role of prosecutor Kang Gon. The character is a whistleblower who files a report on the corruption in his department and gets swept up by fate when he participates in a case involving items with special powers.
The drama will be produced by Huayi Brothers and will be written by screenwriter Jung Yi Do, who also wrote OCN’s “Save Me.”
