Wanna One And MOMOLAND Officially Certified Platinum By Gaon Chart

Wanna One and MOMOLAND have officially gone platinum!

Earlier this year, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a brand-new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinums once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.

On August 9, Gaon Chart announced that Wanna One and MOMOLAND were the latest artists to receive official certifications. Wanna One’s latest album “1÷χ=1(UNDIVIDED)” was certified double platinum after selling over 500,000 copies since its release in June.

Meanwhile, MOMOLAND’s hit “BBoom BBoom” became the second song ever to receive a Gaon platinum certification—and the first by a female artist—after surpassing 100 million streams. iKON’s “Love Scenario” was the first to reach the milestone earlier this year.
