5 K-Beauty Products That'll Get You That Summer Glow
With summer in full bloom, it’s really about time for your vanity to get a new wash of color. Sunny and wet, the change in seasons can sometimes turn into quite a muggy affair and turn you into a grease ball (talk about excessive glow!). Save yourself the trouble and read on for five K-beauty products to get you the only kind of glo-up you need!
1. NEOGEN Green Tea Real Fresh Foam Cleanser
As with diets, the beauty trend recently has been all about natural products and you can’t get more natural than having real green tea leaves infused in your bottle of foam cleanser. It doesn’t stop there. The star ingredient in this cleanser is fermented green tea extract, which promises to brighten, calm, and hydrate your parched skin. Pony, one of Korea’s most influential beauty gurus, also swears by using green tea water as a face wash. Why not take a (tea) leaf out of her book? I definitely have; lightweight and hydrating, this product has been a lifesaver for me, especially on days when I need a gentle cleanse to calm my skin down!
2. Son & Park Beauty Water
For the uninitiated, beauty water is just another word for toner, and this one by Son & Park is one of my holy grails. After a sample sized version of it made my skin feel impossibly soft, I just had to upgrade to the full-sized bottle and I haven’t looked back since. Hydrating and fresh, this product absorbs fast, which is great for fuss-free mornings.
3. Cremorlab Ideal Base Shield
Summer is when UV rays are stronger so it is very important for us to shield our skin with sunscreen. One of my faves would have to be Cremorlab’s Ideal Base Shield. With SPF50+/PA++++, your skin will be well-protected against harmful UVA and UVB rays. And a bonus perk is that this product also doubles up as a great makeup base. It has this pinkish tint to it that brightens up your skin and gives it a youthful glow – perfect for summer!
4. NEOGEN Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon
You know a product is a must-have when it actually brings a hardcore physical exfoliating lover to the dark (or shall we say, light) side. While these pads don’t have the nitty gritty feeling to it that I love about exfoliating, they do pack a solid one-two punch with its combination of physical and chemical exfoliation to help slough off dead skin and dirt. The lemon variety is also loaded with citrus extracts, which contain high levels of Vitamin C that help to boost collagen production. Since I started using them, my acne scars have also faded significantly. Score one for these cottony glove-like pads!
5. Skinfood Rice Daily Brightening Mask Wash Off
I have used Skinfood’s Rice Mask religiously for a year now, so when I heard the recipe got upgraded to a version you could use daily, I just had to get my hands on one of these pots. At double (200 grams or approximately 7 ounces) the size of the original and with ten times the content of rice bran water, the texture of this mask is also much thicker — a little like a clay mask that moisturizes. Whether you use it before bed for some night-time pampering or in the morning for a quick five-minute perk-me-up, this mask is sure to leave your skin feeling purified, refreshed, and looking brighter to boot.
