'Law Of The Jungle' Hits Peak Ratings During Wanna One's Ong Seong Woo's 'Mukbang' Scene

Nielsen Korea has announced the viewership ratings for the TV programs that aired on August 10.

SBS’s “Law of the Jungle” scored a nationwide viewership rating of 11.4 in their second half. The second half garnered 12.1 percent ratings in the metropolitan area, while their highest rating was in the Jeonju area with 13.6 percent.

The highest rated moment, or “peak ratings,” occurred during Ong Seong Woo’s “mukbang” (eating broadcast) scene. The Wanna One member has proved to be a popular member of the cast already through his funny reactions.

During the scene, the cast had been hungry all day when Kim Byung Man brought them coconuts. Ong Seong Woo stretched out his neck while waiting for his turn and made everyone laugh with his fixation on the food. His happiness while eating the coconuts took a quick turn, however, when he tried a banana before it could be grilled and made a face at how unripe it tasted.

As expected from the popularity of Wanna One, the episode also garnered average viewership ratings of 5.8 percent among the 20-49-year-old demographic, with a peak of 6.5 percent, the highest of all Friday variety shows.
