WJSN Announces Comeback Without Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi, And Xuan Yi
WJSN (Cosmic Girls) has confirmed plans for their upcoming comeback and announced that Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi, and Xuan Yi will not be participating.
On September 3, Starship Entertainment stated that WJSN would be making a comeback later this month and confirmed that the mysterious image released the day before had been the group’s first teaser.
The agency also announced, “Members Mei Qi and Xuan Yi will be busy with their promotions with the Chinese girl group Rocket Girls, and Cheng Xiao was unable to reschedule her prior engagements in China, so the three members have ended up being unable to participate in promotions for this [upcoming] album.
“We are planning to have WJSN move forward with promotions for this album as 10 members.”
Starship Entertainment added, “We ask for the understanding of the fans, who must have looked forward to seeing all 13 members of WJSN promote.”
Earlier this year, Mei Qi and Xuan Yi came in first and second place respectively on the Chinese version of “Produce 101.” Although the two WJSN members initially withdrew from the show’s project group, Rocket Girls, Yuehua Entertainment confirmed last month that the idols would be promoting with both Rocket Girls and WJSN in the future.
Meanwhile, WJSN will be making their return on September 19. The group’s most recent comeback was in February of this year, when they released their fourth mini album “Dream Your Dream,” featuring the title track “Dreams Come True.”
