Big Hit Entertainment Shares How Nicki Minaj's Idea Influenced BTS's New "IDOL" MV

Nicki Minaj contributed to “IDOL” in more than one way!

BTS dropped their repackaged album “Love Yourself” and title track “IDOL” in August. The group also digitally released a version of “IDOL” with Nicki Minaj, which recently got its own music video on September 6.

The video features the female rapper as well as clips of fans from all over the world taking part in the “IDOL Challenge.” A notable aspect of the newly added scene with Nicki Minaj was the use of Korean in the background.

Regarding this, Big Hit Entertainment revealed, “Nicki Minaj suggested the idea and said it would be nice to write her English rap in Korean in the music video. So, we wrote out the Korean pronunciation of the English rap and included this as if they were subtitles.”

BTS is currently carrying out their “Love Yourself” world tour, which has impressively had over 2.4 million tweets shared about it so far.
