AOA's Seolhyun Talks About Horseback Riding And Uhm Tae Goo Expresses Gratitude To Her
AOA’s Seolhyun and Uhm Tae Goo recently talked about their upcoming film “The Great Battle.”
On September 12, “The Great Battle” held a screening event for the press with director Kim Kwang Shik and actors Jo In Sung, Nam Joo Hyuk, Bae Sung Woo, AOA’s Seolhyun, Jung Eun Chae, Park Byung Eun, and Uhm Tae Goo in attendance.
During the interview portion, Seolhyun stated, “I did think that playing the character of Baek Ha would be difficult, but I also thought it would be fun. I also began horseback riding lessons immediately. If the actions scenes on horseback aren’t natural, the other scenes would be hard to portray as well, so I practiced extremely hard with that thought. It wasn’t hard pushing my body, because I usually learn choreographies for my group [AOA] activities. I had fun practicing.”
Later, Uhm Tae Goo revealed that he had received a lot of help from Seolhyun. He said, “I wasn’t usually able to have many conversations with Seolhyun. However, as we struggled through the difficult filming, I think a strong friendship formed between us. I went to set feeling really nervous, but after seeing Seolhyun acting beside me, I was able to take a step forward in acting.”
“The Great Battle” is a historical film that follows the 88-day battle between General Yang Manchun (played by Jo In Sung) and Tang Taizong’s army of 500 thousand troops in the city of Ansi.
Seolhyun appears as General Yang Manchun’s little sister Baek Ha, who leads a female soldier unit. Baek Ha is a fictional character created for the film.
“The Great Battle” premieres in South Korea on September 19. Check out the teaser here!
