Girls' Generation's Yuri And Shin Dong Wook's Upcoming Drama Holds First Script Reading
“Dae Jang Geum Is Watching” (literal translation) recently held its first script reading.
Cast members Shin Dong Wook, Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, Lee Yul Eum, Kim Hyun Joon, BTOB’s Minhyuk, Jung Yi Rang, and Kim Ki Ri were in attendance. PDs Sun Hye Yoon, Oh Mi Kyung, and writers Park Eun Jung, Choi Woo Joo attended as well.
Ahead of the script reading, PD Sun Hye Yoon stated, “Along with the actors here, let’s show everyone what laughing until you explode is like, and what a real eating broadcast is. I hope that this feeling of excitement will last until the end.”
Shin Dong Wook, who will be playing Han San Hae, shared, “I will film with a happy heart, so that the drama will be one where viewers will empathize more towards the end.” Yuri, taking on the role of Bok Seung Ah, commented, “After receiving the script, I feel that I will be able to trust the production staff and have fun filming. Since it won’t be a short time, I will do my best to make good memories with everyone.”
Minhyuk, who will be playing the mysterious regular customer at the convenience store, received a round of applause after saying, “I think this will be my last project before my enlistment, so I’ll have fun and work hard.”
The script reading began, and the actors immersed themselves into their characters. Shin Dong Wook, Lee Yul Eum, and Kim Hyun Joon, who play the siblings with special powers in the drama, showed off their realistic sibling-like chemistry. Yuri expressed the reality and difficulties of life as a new employee. Jung Yi Rang and Kim Ki Ri, who take on comedic roles, made everyone burst into laughter whenever their lines came up.
Upcoming MBC variety drama “Dae Jang Geum” is about three siblings who live to eat, and whose greatest enjoyment in life is eating. Filled with romance, drool-worthy food, and more, the drama is about the descendants of Dae Jang Geum from MBC drama “Jewel in the Palace.”
“Dae Jang Geum Is Watching” will air its first episode on October 11 at 11:10 p.m. KST.
