A making-of video for the script reading of the drama “Ping Pong Ball” (literal title) has been released!
“Ping Pong Ball” is a story about the unexpected friendship that forms between a college student named Kim Joon Young (played by Ji Soo) and a homeless man named Kim Deuk Hwan (played by Yoo Jae Myung).
On September 13, JTBC released a video of the script reading that took place in August.
The cast and crew gathered in a room where Ji Soo and Yoo Jae Myung exchanged lines while not taking their eyes off of the script. The other actors also immersed in their characters.
After director Kim Sang Ho and writer Park Ji Won introduced themselves, the leads also got up to greet everyone.
Ji Soo began, “Hello. I’m Ji Soo who will be playing the role of Kim Young Joon.” He made the others laugh when he joked, “I’ll work hard today to not cause any harm.” According to the words on the screen, Kim Young Joon is a college student majoring in philosophy, is pedantic, has a crush on someone, and is dealing with the pain of rejection.
Yoo Jae Myung stated, “I’m Yoo Jae Myung who will be portraying Kim Deuk Hwan. I’m really happy to be in this good project and I’ll work hard.” Kim Deuk Hwan is a homeless man with a story, is knowledgeable about various topics, is eccentric, and has many secrets.
BESTie’s Haeryung said, “Hello. I’m Haeryung who will appear as In Ha. I’ll work hard.” In Ha is described as a girl in her 20s and is Kim Young Joon’s crush. The words police station and teddy bear are also included in her description.
Other actors portraying characters such as an editor who’s also a witness, a businessman who creates rumors, and a detective also rehearsed their lines. The script reading ended with the cast posing for group photos.
