Sunmi And INFINITE's Nam Woohyun Talk About Being Leaders At Their Schools
Sunmi and INFINITE’s Nam Woohyun shared stories from their school years.
On September 13, Sunmi, Woohyun, and rapper HAON appeared as guests on SBS PowerFM’s “2 O’Clock Escape Cultwo Show.”
Nam Woohyun said, “I released my second solo mini album ‘Second Write..’ that announces the second chapter of my music. The title track ‘If Only You Are Fine‘ is a ballad that matches well with fall. I expressed the feelings of someone saying, ‘Weren’t we good together at one point? Why did we break up?'”
He continued, “The song is really good. There may be people who have never listened to it, but there isn’t anyone who has only listened to it once.” Sunmi confirmed, “It’s true. Since we promote on the same shows, I get to listen to it and when you listen to it once, the melody gets stuck in your head.”
Speaking about her own comeback and new title track “Siren,” Sunmi said, “I was inspired by the mythological mermaids sirens when I made the song. It’s like a warning about the mermaid’s beauty and has the double meaning of a siren. It doesn’t have the image of a goddess, but of a female warrior.”
She added, “I participated in writing the song and the lyrics. There’s also a thing called the mermaid dance as the point choreography. There are many parts where I sit on the ground and dance.”
The guests then talked about their school years. After revealing that he was the vice-president of his elementary school, Nam Woohyun made others laugh when he said, “At the time, I made the pledge that I would pick up all of the trash in the school. I wouldn’t pick it up if I was by myself, but I’d pick it up if someone was watching. I always walked around with a plastic bag.”
Sunmi said that she also used to be the president of her school. “I made a realistic pledge,” she said. “My family wasn’t well off, but I said that I would lead the school with responsibility. I said that I would become the face of the school and I think that moved the students’ hearts.”
