The 2018 DMC Festival‘s “Korean Music Wave” concert kicked off with some exciting cover performances this year!
MBC’s annual K-pop concert, which aired on September 15, featured a number of special performances by NCT Dream, (G)I-DLE, The Boyz, WJSN (Cosmic Girls), and operatic pop duo Duetto.
The Boyz covered BTS’s hit song “Boy in Luv,” which member Ju Haknyeon memorably performed during Mnet’s “Produce 101 Season 2,” and WJSN (Cosmic Girls) took on Girls’ Generation’s debut track “Into the New World,” which similarly shot member Yoo Yeonjung to fame during the first season of “Produce 101.”
NCT Dream put their own spin on labelmate EXO’s iconic hit “Growl,” while (G)I-DLE performed 4Minute’s debut song “Hot Issue.”
Meanwhile, popera duo Duetto, who won over the audience at the 2017 MBC Gayo Daejejun with their unique hit medley, stole viewers’ hearts once again with their heartfelt renditions of TWICE’s “Cheer Up,” BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and MOMOLAND’s “BBoom BBoom.”
