Actor Im Hyung Joon Belatedly Announces Divorce From Korean-American Wife
Im Hyung Joon has parted ways with his wife after six years of marriage.
On September 19, it was belatedly revealed that Im Hyung Joon and his wife divorced at the beginning of this year.
In an interview with Korean media outlet News1, he stated, “It was a decision that was made after a lot of thought.” He emphasized that the divorce was not because they had any particular problems with each other and that he was still in frequent contact with his ex-wife because their son was in her custody.
Im Hyung Joon got married to a Korean-American non-celebrity who’s 10 years younger than him in January 2012, after 10 months of dating. They announced the birth of their first child that August. The two had met through an acquaintance and dated in Korea and America.
Im Hyung Joon debuted in 1999 in the play “Subway Line 1” (literal title) and has since appeared in films including “Marrying the Mafia,” “The Outlaws,” and “On Your Wedding Day.” He also recently showcased his singing skills on MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer.”
