VIXX's N Talks About Filming His First Kiss Scene In "Familiar Wife"

In a recent interview, VIXX’s N sat down to talk about his styling for “Familiar Wife” and what it was like to film his first kiss scene.

In “Familiar Wife,” N played Kim Hwan, who had a “baby perm” and wore unique shirts and/or neckties. About his character’s sense of style, N said, “At first I was worried about it. I thought he wouldn’t feel as relatable. He might be the most unique character I’ve ever played in my acting career.”

He continued, “But overall I liked the result. People liked the styling. My sister told me that the style became popular online, so I was proud. The director and the stylists put a lot of work into it so I felt like they were being rewarded.”

Kim Hwan also shared a romance storyline with Hyang Sook, played by actress Kim So Ra. “At first, I didn’t know that the ‘love line’ would be that big,” N shared. “The screenwriter crafted it really well. When I saw that there would be a kiss scene, the thing I thought about was whether Hwan had dated a lot before or not. I had the feeling he hadn’t had a lot of dating experience. I was resolved to film the kiss scene from Hwan’s perspective as much as possible. I didn’t want him to feel like an expert, or for viewers to focus too much on the kiss. I wanted them to see the couple’s nervousness and excitement instead. I think that I was able to express Hwan’s feelings [through the scene], so I’m satisfied.”
