Park Hae Mi To Donate Performance Fees Following Husband’s Car Accident

Park Hae Mi will return to the musical stage of “Oh! Carol.”

Last month, Park Hae Mi’s husband Hwang Min was responsible for a deadly car accident. He drove a car into a 25-ton truck that was parked on the side of the road. As a result, two passengers died at the scene. Hwang Min, the other two passengers, and the driver of the truck sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. The passengers who lost their lives were Park Hae Mi’s juniors. Following the news reports about the accident, she suspended all of her activities.

She first talked about returning to the stage on September 28. “My soul is all burned up, but I will still be ‘Esther’ on stage.”

She continued, “I am under exhausting circumstances, but I cannot let my situation afflict my co-actors and the production team. I also have to keep my promise with the audience. It is an actor’s duty and destiny to sing and dance on stage even though he or she is in despair.”

She concluded her statement by saying, “I have practiced enough. There’s only three weeks left until the show’s end, but I will do my best. It’s not about the money. I am going to donate all the performance fees that I receive while acting in this musica.l”

The musical “Oh! Carol” is an international hit based on the songs of famous pop musician Neil Sedaka. It is scheduled to run until October 21, and Park Hae Mi plays the female lead Esther.
