YG Clarifies Reports On New Hip Hop Program With Song Mino And Zion.T

YG Entertainment has given an official statement following reports of a new audition program that will feature WINNER’s Song Mino and Zion.T.

On October 4, media outlet News1 reported that WINNER’s Song Mino and Zion.T would appear in YG Entertainment’s new hip hop variety program led by producing director (PD) Han Dong Chul.

According to the report, YG was in the midst of planning for the show to premiere by the end of the year with Han Dong Chul, who led “MIXNINE” after joining YG Entertainment in 2017. The report also stated that Han Dong Chul was looking to cast other distinguished rappers as well.

Following this report, a source from YG Entertainment stated that the main producer of the new hip hop program would actually be PD Lee Sang Yoon. It will be his first hip hop program production following his transfer to YG Entertainment. PD Lee Sang Yoon previously produced the fourth season of “Show Me the Money” and was responsible for the success of Mnet’s “Produce 101 Season 2.”

In response to inquiries about the cast, the source replied, “We’re still in the stages of discussing matters of the cast, concept, or other details within the company. Other than Song Mino and Zion.T, many other rappers will appear on the show, and we are currently in talks [with them].”

The source continued, “We’re planning for multiple music broadcast programs since we’ve brought in many music broadcast PDs last year. Please look forward to it since we’re preparing hard for it.”

Previously, YG Entertainment had stated that they would produce a hip hop program that is completely different from Mnet’s “Show Me the Money.”
