EXO's Baekhyun Breaks Record For Highest-Charting K-Pop Solo Artist On Billboard's Artist 100

EXO’s Baekhyun has officially made Billboard history!

On October 4 local time, Billboard announced that Baekhyun had debuted on its Artist 100 chart at No. 84, the highest ranking ever achieved by a solo K-pop artist.

Billboard’s Artist 100 is a weekly American music chart that measures artists’ popularity by analyzing a number of factors, including music consumption, sales, radio airplay, streaming, and fan interaction.

Only two other solo K-pop artists have ever made the chart: Psy, who held the previous record at No. 88, and BTS’s J-Hope, who hit No. 91 after releasing his solo mixtape “Hope World” earlier this year. (EXO as a group has previously reached No. 18 on the chart.)

Baekhyun has enjoyed an impressive week on the Billboard charts—not only did he set a new record on the Artist 100, but he also returned to his previous peak of No. 2 on the latest Social 50 chart after seeing a staggering 1,343 percent increase in his score.

Last month, the EXO member topped both domestic and international music charts with “YOUNG,” his solo collaboration with rapper Loco. “YOUNG” is now tied with his 2017 SM STATION solo track “Take You Home” for Baekhyun’s best-selling song in the United States, where both have sold over 2,000 copies.

In even more good news for Baekhyun, EXO also recently announced their long-awaited comeback with their fifth studio album “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo,” due out on November 2.

Congratulations to Baekhyun on his impressive achievement!
