Cha Tae Hyun And Bae Doona Reveal Why They Chose To Appear On "Matrimonial Chaos"

The press conference for “Matrimonial Chaos” took place on October 5, with the main actors Cha Tae Hyun, Bae Doona, Lee El, and Son Seok Gu all present.

During the conference, Cha Tae Hyun revealed why he chose to star in the drama. He first picked the scenario and then mentioned Bae Doona as the reason, saying, “I heard that Bae Doona was in talks, so I challenged myself. Bae Doona counts for 70 percent of the reason why I selected this drama. I was curious to find out what kind of chemistry we could present to the audience.”

After listening to Cha Tae Hyun, Bae Doona went on to say what she felt about the drama. “The thing that worried me when I first read the script was that this drama is a remake of a Japanese drama. The script was fun to read, and the expressions used in the script also matched my style, but the original ‘Matrimonial Chaos’ that aired in 2013 was an incredibly popular masterpiece. Although Korea and Japan is physically very close to each other, the culture is very different. So if the adaptation is not created properly, the audience might not understand the drama at all. But luckily, our writer is very talented in writing adaptations. And I also thought that I could act this role really well.”

Bae Doona concluded by showing her determination. “I’m happy to work with Cha Tae Hyun. I heard that his wife recommended working with me. I thank everyone involved in the production and I will not let anyone down.”

“Matrimonial Chaos” is a love comedy drama that started from the question, “Is marriage really the completion of love?” and introduces different people’s thoughts on love, marriage, and family. The drama will premiere on October 8 at 10 p.m. KST.
