Goo Hara's Representatives Respond To Interview By Boyfriend's Lawyer About Sex Tape And Blackmail
After the lawyer of Goo Hara’s boyfriend (hereafter referred to as “C”) stated that C had never intended to blackmail her with their sex tape, Goo Hara’s legal representatives have issued a statement.
On October 4, it was reported that on the night of their fight, C blackmailed Goo Hara by telling her that he would give a tip about her to the media outlet Dispatch, and then sent her clips from their sex tape. He also contacted Dispatch to inform the outlet that he had a tip about Goo Hara.
Goo Hara sued C for coercion and blackmail on September 27, along with violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Violence Crimes.
After the report about the blackmail, C’s lawyer held an interview with the press. He stated that Goo Hara had been the one who had suggested they film a sex tape, and that C had sent clips to her that night not as blackmail but as “memories to cherish.”
On October 5, Goo Hara’s legal representatives shared a statement in response to this interview.
They wrote, “The recent media interview given by representatives of C is clearly a second act of harm. It obscures the nature of the incident, which is the blackmail and coercion carried out in relation to the release of the video, as well as the attempt to release the video. We sternly warn C’s representatives to cease secondary acts of harm.”
