'Matrimonial Chaos' Makes Solid Premiere As '100 Days My Prince' And 'Where Stars Land' Lead In Ratings

A new contender has appeared among Monday-Tuesday evening dramas!

KBS2′ newest drama “Matrimonial Chaos” premiered on October 8. Based on a Japanese drama of the same name, the romantic comedy explores the differing thoughts of men and woman on love, marriage, family, and questions if marriage is the true completion of love. It stars Cha Tae Hyun, Bae Doona, Lee El, and Son Seok Gu.

According to Nielsen Korea, the premiere recorded average ratings of 3.2 percent and 4.0 percent, placing it second in its time slot.  MBC’s “Bad Papa’ was in third with ratings of 2.4 percent and 3.5 percent.

Meanwhile, SBS’s “Where Stars Land” maintained its first-place position among public broadcasting station dramas during its October 8 broadcast, with viewership ratings of 6.7 percent and 9.1 percent and a peak at 11.5 percent.

tvN’s “100 Days My Prince” also maintained a high viewership of 9.1 percent, hitting a peak of 11.0 percent, across all paid platforms, including cable, satellite, and IPTV. While cable ratings and public broadcasting channel ratings are aggregated in slightly different ways, it continued to be first among all dramas in its time slot, across both cable and public broadcasting channels.

JTBC’s “The Beauty Inside” notably saw a personal best with its October 8 broadcast and recorded 3.5 percent in viewership.

KBS2’s, SBS’s, and MBC’s dramas air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. KST while tvN’s and JTBC’s dramas air at 9:30 p.m. KST.
