2018 Melon Music Awards Announces Date And Additional Details

Korea’s largest music streaming platform Melon revealed its plans for this year’s Melon Music Awards (hereafter MMA).

The 2018 MMA will take place on December 1 at Gocheok Sky Dome. This year is even more meaningful as it is the 10th anniversary of the ceremony.

Melon stated that the slogan of the awards will be, “When our stories meet,” and confidently assured that it will be ‘the biggest k-pop festival’ with a strong artist lineup and top quality performances. Many special events and contents filled with the history of the Melon Music Awards will be released prior to the event.

The nominees of MMA are determined through Melon data, fan votes, and the evaluation of experts.

Kakao’s music business team manager Han Hee Won commented, “The reason why MMA was able to settle down as the biggest K-pop festival in Korea is the support and interest towards the event from many people. This year, the ceremony will be a place where we can remember and celebrate the history between Melon users and the artists.”

This year’s MMA will air live via JTBC2, JTBC4, 1theK, and KakaoTV. Check out the winners and performances of last year’s ceremony!
