Baek Sung Hyun's Agency Responds To Reports Of Involvement In Drunk Driving Incident

Baek Sung Hyun’s agency addressed his involvement in a drunk driving accident.

On October 10, his agency sidusHQ responded to reports that the actor had been involved in a drunk driving incident. In an official statement, the company confirmed that Baek Sung Hyun had met with friends while out overnight and that he had been in the passenger seat of a car whose driver was drunk.

The agency stated, “Baek Sung Hyun was out [of the army base] overnight. After a meeting with acquaintances, he got into a car where the driver was inebriated, and an accident occurred. It was wrong to get in the car, and he acknowledges his error. As a member of the military, he is deeply reflecting on the fact that he has brought about criticism during his service.”

According to the police, in the early morning of October 10, Baek Sung Hyun was riding in a car that got into an accident. The car, headed in the direction of Munsan, slipped, and after spinning around twice, hit the central strip dividing the road. Baek Sung Hyun was sitting in the passenger seat. The driver, a woman “A,” was tested to have blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent. Her license is currently suspended.

Baek Sung Hyun enlisted in the military on January 2, 2018. The actor made his debut as a child actor in 1994 with the film “I Wish for What Is Forbidden to Me” and previously appeared in dramas such as “Doctors” and “Voice.”
