Nam Tae Hyun, Kyungri, Mijoo, And More Talk About Their Virtual Marriage Show
The press conference for tvN’s new variety show, “In-Laws in Practice” took place on October 12.
“In-Laws in Practice” is a variety show where three couples virtually get married and talk to their in-laws. The three couples are Kwon Hyuk Soo and Lovelyz’s Mijoo, 9MUSES’ Kyungri and Austin Kang, and Nam Tae Hyun and Jang Do Yeon.
During the interview, the producer of the show stated, “I made the show, ‘We Got Married.’ People were worried about the show being ‘fake,’ but it lasted for 10 years. The show gradually became a place for idols to raise awareness of themselves and their group. It’s not what we expected, but the show paved ways for more shows like this.”
The reason why Lovelyz’s Mijoo and Kwon Hyuk Soo was paired as a couple was also revealed. The producer said, “Kwon Hyuk Soo is passionate and full of energy, but at the same time a careful planner. I wanted to show the more easygoing side of him. I wanted Mijoo to bring out the easygoing vibes of Kwon Hyuk Soo.”
Nam Tae Hyun also mentioned his feelings about the show. “When I first got a call from this show, I worried a lot. I thought that I needed to focus only on music, but my thoughts have changed. My music can spread and be loved more if the public knows me more. I promised my fans that I will go anywhere they want, so I’m trying my best to work in a lot of projects.”
Kyungri and Austin Kang moved on to talk about each other. Kyungri said, “Austin Kang is calm and easygoing. I’m becoming more like that because of him.” Austin Kang said, “Kyungri’s always smiling and she’s cool. I’m happy to be with her. We have good chemistry. I feel like we’re actually married. We get along really well.” Kyungri added, “After the broadcast of the first episode, my mom was so happy about the show. She likes Austin Kang more than I like him. I started living alone ever since I became an adult, so my mom never saw me date anyone. So I think that’s why she likes this show so much. I feel happy too.”
The show “In-Laws in Practice” airs every Friday at 7:40 p.m. KST on tvN.
