Kim Eun Suh Sincerely Apologizes And Explains Comment Made In Her Name About Sunmi and Jeon Somi
Former JYP Entertainment trainee and former contestant on Mnet’s “Sixteen” and “Idol School”, Kim Eun Suh, took to her Instagram on October 21 to explain and apologize for the Facebook comment controversy involving Jeon Somi and Sunmi.
A previous comment made in Kim Eun Suh’s name on a Facebook video of Jeon Somi covering Sunmi’s “Gashina” recently surfaced. The comment stated, “This is the first time I’ve felt that Sunmi could sing well.” The comment then caused people to suspect her of attacking her fellow trainee Jeon Somi.
Kim Eun Suh explained herself on Instagram by stating, “After I moved to Seoul to become a trainee, I had made a shared Facebook account with my friends to keep in contact with those from my hometown who don’t have phone numbers. These friends were not trainees themselves but had their own personal reasons as to why they couldn’t use social media using their own name. So they would either randomly change their names on social media or use my name and my Instagram pictures.” She continued on to add, “The controversial comment seems to have been posted by another friend who was using my name and pictures on their profile at the time.”
Kim Eun Suh then emphasized that she did not post the comment by explaining, “Even though not a lot of people know who I am, I know better than anyone that I should be careful about everything I do or say since my face has become known to the world. So uploading a comment on such a public platform is almost like suicidal behavior to me.”
She apologized to Sunmi and Jeon Somi by saying, “This was an easily misleading situation and it was my mistake that I couldn’t prevent something like this from happening beforehand. I would like to sincerely apologize to my senior Sunmi, my fellow trainee Jeon Somi, and to everyone who was hurt by this issue.”
Kim Eun Suh also revealed that she will be remove herself from the problematic account through which the comment was posted. She added that she will not be using Facebook or Facebook Messenger anymore after today and that she will be more careful as to prevent something like this from happening again in the future.
