EXO's Lay Makes Impressive First-Ever Entry On Billboard 200 With "NAMANANA"
EXO’s Lay continues to make his mark on the industry!
The singer scored high on Billboard’s latest charts with his solo album “NAMANANA,” including his first ever entry on Billboard 200!
On October 19, Lay released his third solo album “NAMANANA,” which has been a success worldwide. With Lay involved in all aspects of the album’s creation from composition to lyrics to arrangement, the album features 22 tracks in total, 11 Chinese songs and 11 English-equivalents such as his pre-release track “Give Me a Chance.”
Lay’s “NAMANANA” entered the Billboard 200 chart for the first time ever at No. 21 for the week ending November 3, the highest ever for a Chinese artist. According to Nielsen Music, the album earned 24,000 equivalent album units in the week ending October 25, with 23,000 of the sum from traditional album sales.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums.
With “NAMANANA,” Lay also placed No.1 on the World Albums chart dated November 3, his highest-ever entry on this chart, as well as No.1 on the Independent Albums chart. In addition to this, he is at No. 4 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 7 on the Social 50 chart, and ranked highly on several other Billboard charts.
Lay will be holding a fan event in New York on November 6, and participate in a BUILD Series live interview on November 2. He is also making a comeback with EXO for their fifth studio “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo,” which will drop on November 2.
