TWICE Reportedly Unable To Attend 2018 Melon Music Awards
TWICE may not be attending this year’s Melon Music Awards (hereafter MMA).
According to sources in the music industry, TWICE will reportedly be attending MBC Music’s “MBC Music K-Pop Concert in Guam” on December 1. Since this event will take place in Guam, TWICE will reportedly be unable to attend 2018 MMA which will also take place on December 1 at Gocheok Sky Dome.
TWICE received a lot of love this year for their songs “What is Love?” and “Dance the Night Away.” The girl group will release “YES or YES” on November 5 and attempt to achieve their 10th consecutive hit. They’ve also confirmed appearances on JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything” and “Idol Room” for their upcoming comeback promotions.
This year will be the 10th anniversary of MMA. The top artists of 2018 according to its monthly chart includes Jang Deok Cheol in January, iKON in February and March, Nilo in April and May, Bolbbalgan4 in June, BLACKPINK in July, Shaun in August, and Sunmi in September.
2018 MMA will be sponsored by companies including Kakao, Seoul Metropolitan City, and JTBC Plus Media, and will broadcast live via JTBC2, JTBC4, 1theK, and KakaoTV. The first round of voting for this year’s Top 10 opened on October 26 and will run until November 13 KST on Melon’s website.
