Super Junior's Kim Heechul Proves His Love For Gaming
Super Junior’s Kim Heechul is still a fan of games!
On November 2, a press conference was held for MBC’s new variety show “Begin A Game.” Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and Shindong, comedian Kim Joon Hyun, Guillaume Patry, B1A4’s Gongchan, and Berry Good’s Johyun were in attendance.
“Begin A Game” is a game program where its guests will play games and share stories or past memories relating to said game. Guests from the entertainment industry that have been known to dabble in games will appear on the program to show off their hidden gaming life and even go up against professional gamers.
During the event, Kim Heechul was asked about the differences between this program and SBS’s “Game Show,” which he had previously starred in. He responded, “Back then, we played games that hadn’t existed previously, so we had no choice but to listen to a lot of stories related to PPL [sponsored product placement]. In ‘Game Show,’ we tried to get people into new games. However, in ‘Begin A Game,’ we’ll be playing classic games that are already well-known and dig into the history of those games.”
He continued, “I really liked games, so I’ll talk about the good points of games. Korea’s game industry has been acknowledged all over the world and is greatly responsible for promoting Korea, but many people look at games unfavorably. Therefore, no matter what, even without forcing anyone [to like games], I still really want to reveal the fact that ‘there’s nothing bad about playing games.'”
He then joked, “I was a little shocked after hearing that MBC was creating a game program, because didn’t MBC look at games unfavorably too?”
“Begin A Game” will air on Fridays at 12:55 a.m. KST.
