'Intimate Strangers' Becomes Fastest Korean Comedy Of 2018 To Surpass 1 Million Moviegoers

The film “Intimate Strangers” is celebrating a meaningful milestone!

According to Korean Film Council, “Intimate Strangers” has reached 1,002,600 moviegoers as of 4 p.m. KST on November 3. The film was able to achieve such a feat in four days, making it the fastest Korean comedy of 2018 to reach the milestone. It is currently on par with last year’s hit film “Midnight Runners,” which attracted over 5.6 million moviegoers in total.

The cast of “Intimate Strangers” marked the achievement with selfies of themselves holding up smartphones that say “1 million.” The celebration was also a witty use of smartphones as it ties in with the premise of the film.

“Intimate Strangers” is a Korean remake of the 2016 Italian film “Perfect Strangers” and stars Yoo Hae Jin, Lee Seo JinJo Jin WoongYum Jung AhYoon Kyung HoKim Ji Soo, and Song Ha Yoon. It tells the story of a group of people at a couple’s gathering who play a game where they are forced to reveal all phone calls and text messages they receive on their smartphones.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Intimate Strangers”!
