PSY Involved In Lawsuit Regarding Performance In 2017

A production agency filed a lawsuit against PSY for “performing insincerely,” but lost the case.

On November 5, Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Department ruled against the plaintiff for the lawsuit filed by agency “A” against PSY. “A” is a company that works with an Indonesian company to produce Korean concerts and performances overseas.

“A” filed the lawsuit for a previous concert that took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, in October 2017. The agency claimed that PSY did not fill up his promised quota for the concert. The agency demanded PSY for 275.4 million won (approximately $246,000) after claiming that he came up on stage at 8:30 p.m., sang four songs and ended the concert while he originally promised to sing five songs between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

PSY’s agency replied to this claim by saying, “There has been no violation of contract, and the agency is trying to damage PSY’s reputation despite that the truth is clear.”
