MBC’s new survival show “Under 19” has revealed the contestants’ rankings after their first round of evaluations!
On the November 10 episode of the audition program, the contestants continued to showcase their talents in front of the celebrity directors, who ranked them according to their performances. The members of each team (vocal, rap, and dance) were ranked separately, and the contestants went head-to-head in a battle to win one of the three first-place positions.
Spoiler
Ji Jinseok received a near-perfect score for his performance of Crush’s “Sofa” and came in first place on the vocal team.
Shin Yechan came in second place with his rendition of SHINee member Jonghyun’s “End of a Day.”
Meanwhile, on the rap team, Jung Hyunjun took second place after impressing the directors with his self-made beats. Praising his skills, Crush commented admiringly, “How were you able to make that kind of music without learning it [professionally]?”
Choi Soomin was the final performer from the rap team, and both the other contestants and the celebrity directors, including Dynamic Duo, mentioned that they were particularly looking forward to his performance. With his outstanding rap skills and stage presence, Choi Soomin beat Jung Hyunjun to become the first-place winner of the rap team.
Eddie, a contestant from Los Angeles, won first place on the dance team. He was the only contestant to perform dance covers of hits by female singers, including Sunmi’s “Gashina,” HyunA’s “Red,” and EXID’s “Up & Down.”
When the directors said that they were also curious to see his masculine side, he performed the choreography to NCT U’s “Boss.”
