Top 10 Artists With The Highest Total Album Sales Since 2010

Gaon Chart recently released a ranking of the top 10 artists in accumulated physical album sales.

The following list does not include artists who debuted before Gaon Chart’s establishment in 2010.

The numbers include unit albums and are based on data from 2010 through November 3, 2018.

The ranking is as follows:

1. EXO (2012 debut)

10,617,948 albums sold

EXO is currently the only artist with over 10 million album sales recorded on Gaon.

2. BTS (2013 debut)

9,815,626 albums sold

BTS, whose two albums this year have received million and double million certification, respectively, is soon set to exceed 10 million album sales.

3. Wanna One (2017 debut)

2,899,079 albums sold

Although it has only been 15 months since their debut, Wanna One is already in third place with four albums. The group is expected to far surpass the 3 million mark with their upcoming album.

4. TWICE (2015 debut)

2,716,832 albums sold

TWICE is notably the only girl group on the list. When Gaon’s data is released for their most recent album “YES or YES,” it is likely that the group will exceed 3 million albums.

5. GOT7 (2014 debut)

2,294,199 albums sold

GOT7 consistently shows strength in album sales, with their most recent albums “Eyes On You” and “Present : YOU” being certified platinum by Gaon.

6. SEVENTEEN (2015 debut)

2,217,819 albums sold

SEVENTEEN’s album sales have increased significantly over the years, and their newest album “You Make My Day” received platinum certification.

7. INFINITE (2010 debut)

1,518,763 albums sold

INFINITE is the only group that debuted in 2010 on the list. In addition to their full group activities, they also achieved significant album sales with units INFINITE H and INFINITE F.

8. VIXX (2012 debut)

1,443,114 albums sold

Since their debut, VIXX’s albums, as well as VIXX LR’s, have continuously received love every year with their diverse concepts.

9. NCT (2016 debut)

1,370,716 albums sold

This number includes albums from NCT 2018 and all of the NCT units. They have shown significant growth within a short amount of time, with over half of these albums being sold just this year.

10. MONSTA X (2015 debut)

1,055,357 albums sold

MONSTA X is the newest artist to pass the million mark. The feat was achieved with the addition of sales for their recent album “ARE YOU THERE?”

With the impressive album sales of all of these artists as well as the contributions of all other artists, overall physical album sales continue to increase every year. Gaon recorded a total of 6,824,622 units sold for the top 400 albums in 2011, and this number rose to reach 10,808,921 in 2016. Total album sales then jumped to 16,930,491 in 2017 and have increased even further to be 18,631,020 so far in 2018 as of November 3.
