Park Hae Jin, Apink, And More Win At 2018 Korea Hallyu Awards
The 2018 Korea Hallyu Awards were held on December 7 in Seoul at the National Assembly of South Korea.
Each year, the ceremony recognizes people who have done remarkable work and made contributions to fields including Hallyu (Korean wave) culture, industry, and more. It is hosted by Ahn Min Suk, the chairman of the National Assembly Culture and Tourism Committee, and organized by the corporation Korea Wave Culture Industry Forum.
This year’s ceremony gave out 30 awards overall in the six categories Popular Culture, Traditional Culture, Cultural Tourism, Cultural Industry, International Exchange, and Special Awards.
In the Popular Culture category, awardees included actor Park Hae Jin, girl group Apink, singer Punch, composer Im Joon Hee, the musical “Finding Mr. Destiny,” Yoon Ha Rim (the founder of Hwa&Dam Pictures which has produced works such as the drama “Mr. Sunshine”), and Jang Kyung Ik and Park Jae Joo (leaders of New Studio and Soo Jack Films which produced the film “The Great Battle”).
Special awards of merit went to actress Kim Soo Mi, actor Jang Ki Yong, singer Jo Jung Min, and more.
Apink shared photos of themselves with the award and thanked their fans PANDA on Twitter. They said, “The 2018 Korea Hallyu Awards ceremony, in its 8th year! Apink, who won in the popular culture singer category. We were able to receive this valuable award thanks to the love of all of you PANDAs. We really love our PANDAs! Stay together with Apink during the end of the year too.”
