Wanna One's Kang Daniel Makes A Meaningful Donation On His Birthday
Wanna One’s Kang Daniel made a donation on his birthday.
On December 10, Kang Daniel celebrated his 23rd (by Korean reckoning) birthday and donated 12.1 million won (approximately $10,731) to the Miral Welfare Foundation.
At his request, the donation will be used towards medical bills and living expenses for children with disabilities from low-income families.
Since his debut, Kang Daniel has continuously made donations and volunteered to help those in need. In June, he participated in the ice bucket challenge to share his support for the construction of Korea’s first hospital for Lou Gehrig’s disease patients.
When a fan asked him what he wanted for his birthday during a fansign event in June, Kang Daniel replied, “Fans’ donations” and said that he would make a donation too.
Like the singer, his fans have been taking part in donation activities for various days of celebration such as Kang Daniel’s birthday and debut anniversary. Last year, fans made donations to support comfort women survivors and volunteered to pass out coal. This year was no exception as fans made donations to various charities.
Miral Welfare Foundation operates 46 facilities and seven branch offices for the disabled and elderly communities. It also carries out international cooperation projects in 18 countries to provide child care, health care, and emergency relief.
Along with a photo of Kang Daniel, Miral Welfare Foundation posted a tweet that said, “Kang Daniel, birthday, donation. On December 10, the nation’s pick Kang Daniel donated 12.1 million won for children with disabilities!”
