Watch: JYP Entertainment And Mnet's "Super Intern" Confirms First Broadcast Date
JYP Entertainment and Mnet’s new reality show “Super Intern” is confirmed to air its first episode next year on January 10!
“Super Intern” is a new program that will select interns based only on a SWOT analysis (study looking at the company’s strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats) without looking at the applicant’s age, academic credentials, sex, and personal connections. After interning for six weeks, the finalists will become full-time JYP Entertainment employees.
Recently, JYP Entertainment’s CCO (Chief Creative Officer) Park Jin Young appeared at a job fair and provided one-on-one mentoring to job seekers and gave a talk supporting people who were prepping for employment. His active participation in the project has drawn viewers’ attention to the new reality show.
It was revealed on November 18 that more than 6,000 people submitted an application for “Super Intern.” Park Jin Young himself inspected 400 of these applications that were picked out in the first screening phase by JYP’s HR team. Out of these applicants, 103 were picked to participate in an interview. The interviews took place over the course of two days for 18 hours. Park Jin Young was present throughout the entire interview screening, as he was focused on certain details such as upholding “JYP’s fairness and authenticity” while picking out the interns.
In the latest teaser of “Super Intern,” Park Jin Young expresses his surprise by saying, “I can’t believe the day has come where we’re broadcasting this kind of reality show.” His comment is followed by snippets of the interview along with Park Jin Young’s various reactions.
“Super Intern” will pick the finalists to become full-time JYP employees after interns complete a series of missions throughout a six-week period. The application review, interview, mission completing process, and finalist selection will all be aired through Mnet starting January 10 at 8 p.m. KST.
