Zico Reportedly Establishing One-Man Agency
After parting ways with Seven Seasons in November, Block B’s Zico is reportedly taking steps to start his own agency.
According to a new report by media outlet Sports Seoul, Zico has founded his own one-man agency and is currently acting as its CEO. At the moment, he is being assisted in his duties by a former employee of Seven Seasons, who left the company together with him earlier this year.
Although the name of Zico’s new agency has not yet been decided, “King of the Zungle (KOZ)”—which was also the name of his recent world tour—is reportedly one of the top contenders.
A source affiliated with Zico commented, “Because Zico is skilled at composing, writing, and producing music, he has a wide range of options and the freedom to do as he pleases after establishing a one-man agency. Part of the reason he decided to make a fresh start was the fact that he had become intimately familiar with the music industry’s existing agency system for many years following his debut.”
The source continued, “Because the foundation of Zico’s music is hip hop, his role models might be other hip hop artists who have successfully founded their own labels, such as Jay Park, Dok2, The Quiett, Deepflow, and Palo Alto. I believe that he plans to make his own music while also preparing to cultivate junior artists.”
Earlier this year, Zico became the only member of Block B who chose not to renew his contract with Seven Seasons in November. At the time, the agency reported that discussions about the possibility of future group promotions with all seven members were still underway.
Stay tuned for more updates on Zico’s next steps!
