Yeo Jin Goo, Lee Se Young, And More Share What To Expect For Their Roles In “The Crowned Clown”
tvN’s upcoming drama “The Crowned Clown” released new behind-the-scenes footage with the cast talking about their new characters!
On January 1, tvN aired a pre-broadcast episode of the drama that featured its lead and supporting actors discussing their new roles in the drama.
Yeo Jin Goo first addressed what it’s like to take on both roles as the King Lee Heon and the clown Ha Seon. The actor said, “It was a lot of fun. It’s not very often that an actor gets to take on dual roles in the same drama. I am personally doing a lot to prepare, so I hope that many will enjoy seeing two different sides at the same time.”
When asked which character he prefers between the clown and the king, Yeo Jin Goo answered, “I am more like the clown in my daily life. However, I also do cherish the king because I want to be like him.”
He continued, “The king is someone whom everyone will hate once the drama starts airing. He is a lot more vicious than his film counterpart, but at the same time, he also seems more troubled.”
While interviewing Yeo Jin Goo, Lee Se Young appeared to talk about her role as the queen and her relationship with the king. The actress said, “To be honest, their relationship is very complicated. Instead of feeling love towards him, she feels more upset with him. She also likes to blame others.”
Another interview featured Kim Sang Kyung who will play the role of Lee Gyu, the chief royal secretary who brings in the clown into the palace due to his devotion to the king. The actor said, “My character is very serious in the drama. However, everyone is tired and cold at the set. That’s why I make a lot of jokes and say silly things to brighten up the mood.”
Yeo Jin Goo concluded, “Begin your new year with ‘The Crowned Clown.'”
“The Crowned Clown” will be airing its first episode on January 7 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
