Actor And Fashion Designer Ha Yong Soo Passes Away

Actor and fashion designer Ha Yong Soo has passed away after a courageous fight with cancer.

According to his family, he passed away on January 5 at 2:45 a.m. KST after suffering from liver cancer, gallbladder cancer, and cerebral infarction. They shared, “Because he passed away in the early hours of the morning, we were unable to hear his will. We are preparing the funeral with grief. We’re going to start the funeral on the 6th when the whole family can get together.”

Ha Yong Soo debuted in 1969 as an actor and appeared in various films, such as “Heavenly Homecoming to Stars” and “The Rules of the Game.” He later turned into a fashion designer and won the best costume award at the Chunsa Film Festival in 1991 and the Grand Bell Awards in 1992. He also showed exceptional ability as an entertainment planner and was known for having the Midas touch in the entertainment industry for discovering Lee Jung Jae, Choi Min Soo, Lee Mi Sook, and Joo Jin Mo.

The funeral home will be set up at Suncheonhyang University in Yongsan, Seoul, where the burial site and date are yet to be determined.
