Wanna One Goes Double Platinum; TWICE, Loco, And MAMAMOO's Hwasa Certified Platinum By Gaon

Wanna One, TWICE, Loco, and MAMAMOO’s Hwasa are the latest artists to receive official platinum certifications from Gaon Chart!

Last year, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a brand-new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.

On January 11, Gaon Chart announced that Wanna One’s first studio album “1¹¹=1 (POWER OF DESTINY)” had received an official double platinum certification after selling over 500,000 copies since its release in November. The group previously went double platinum with their special album “1÷χ=1(UNDIVIDED)” and triple platinum with their second mini album “0+1=1 (I PROMISE YOU)” last year.

Meanwhile, TWICE achieved their third official double platinum certification with their latest mini album “YES or YES,” continuing their streak of platinum albums that began with “What is Love?” and “Summer Nights” in 2018.

Finally, Loco and MAMAMOO’s Hwasa received an official double platinum certification in the streaming category after surpassing 100 million streams with their hit collaboration “Don’t.”

Congratulations to all of the artists on their impressive achievements!
