KNK Opens Up About Difficult Hiatus + Dongwon Talks About Joining As New Member
KNK features in the February issue of @star1, and they talked about their past year as well as the big change to their member lineup in an interview with the magazine.
KNK made a comeback this month with their third single album “Lonely Night.” This was their first comeback since the group left YNB Entertainment and former member Youjin left KNK due to health issues. It was also their first with the new member Dongwon, who had already been a friend of the members.
When KNK was asked about their long hiatus since their last comeback in July 2017, they replied, “It was a difficult year that we don’t want to think about.” They added, “Still, it was an opportunity for us to improve ourselves and mature, and we were able to grow during our hiatus.”
Dongwon also talked about becoming a new member of the group. “When I first received the offer, I said I didn’t think I could do it,” he said, explaining that he was very worried about joining the team after they’d already built up years of experience.
“However, the members are encouraging me and giving me strength, so I’m adapting bit by bit and the pressure is decreasing,” he added. He also thanked fans for welcoming him after his sudden addition to the group.
With tours in the United States and Japan coming up in February, KNK expressed their gratitude to their fans who’ve been waiting a long time for them. They said that they’re hoping to meet their fans this year through various activities such as a Korean concert and photo shoots.
