Hyomin Reveals T-ara's Future Plans And Reminisces About Past Hit Songs

The members of T-ara are still keeping in touch and thinking about their fans!

At an interview for her new solo track “U Um U Um,” Hyomin shared some updates on T-ara. The group will be celebrating their 10th anniversary on July 29.

“We try to make time for each other, especially because we’re approaching our 10th anniversary. We talked about whether it’s alright to leave things the way they are, and we also said it would be nice if we could arrange a small event to meet with our fans. We still have time, so we’re slowly and carefully making preparations,” she said.

She also looked back on T-ara’s promotions, mentioning that T-ara’s hit songs were all created by composers Jo Young Soo or Sinsadong Tiger. She expressed that they had good chemistry with these composers and would like to collaborate with them again.

She added, “During T-ara’s promotions, there was a time when we asked each other, ‘Our team doesn’t have its own musical identity, does it?’ The topic came up because we were releasing songs of all sorts of genres, but now that I think about it, I think that in itself was our own identity.”

When asked about the music she pursues as a solo artist, she compared T-ara’s music style and her own. “To be honest, T-ara’s music wasn’t the type of music I would normally listen to. I preferred listening to calm acoustic music or lyrical indie pop. But when I began my solo career, I thought about my roots as a girl group member and the experiences through which I learned what I’m able do well. So I decided to position myself according to those things. Ideally, I want to always look my best and only show my strongest sides, but I’m a realistic person. I think about where I stand and how well I’m able to do things, and based on that I look for a point where I can do the things I like without being too reckless.”

In addition, she shared that she had fun filming for a variety show recently and would like to appear on more of them. She also emphasized her interest in fashion and beauty, revealing her plans to start a fashion-themed broadcast and launch her own makeup brand.

Meanwhile, Hyomin recently released a solo track titled “U Um U Um.” She will be releasing her third solo mini album and begin promoting more actively in mid-February.
