Bae Jin Young Shares Memories From Promoting With Wanna One In 2018 + Talks About What He's Planning

Bae Jin Young sat down to chat with his fans in the first V Live on his new solo channel!

He first described his memories of how he spent 2018. “I met our fans in January and February when we attended award shows,” he said. He went on to talk about how their second mini album “0+1=1 (I Promise You)” came out in March. “Rather than our ‘refreshing’ concept, we had a powerful and lethal concept then,” he said. “The fans really liked that album too; it was great because we got a triple crown. I think that was an album where we made a lot of memories with our fans.”

“We were working really hard to practice in May and June for our new album and the world tour,” he said. “I think at that point all I was doing was practicing.”

“But in June, we released our new album as the start of our world tour,” Bae Jin Young continued. “Another special thing was that it was an album with our members’ units, and the reaction was great. May and June were so, so meaningful and special because our fans really liked it.”

“I did ’11’ as my unit song,” he said. “It was something that Lai Guan Lin, Park Ji Hoon, and I did because we wanted to. We were worried and nervously excited about whether Wannable would like it or not, and we also looked forward to it.”

Bae Jin Young then described how July and August were spent on their world tour. “There were some special things that happened during the world tour too,” he said. “I was really surprised that we had fans abroad, and I was also so surprised over how many fans there were. It was such a great period of time because we were meeting fans all over the world.” He also added that August was the group’s first debut anniversary.

The idol went on to talk about award shows. “I think I feel the love from our fans every time we go to an award show,” he said. “I love you. Truly. I’ve said ‘Thank you’ countless times, but I’m being sincere.”

“Part of me wants to turn back time,” he said. “Still, I’m happy because I think I wrapped up the year with fans without any regrets.”

Bae Jin Young also talked about how he had come on V Live because his official fan cafe had opened a few hours before, and he encouraged fans to check out a letter he’d written that would be posted in full on the fan cafe.

He went on to say, “We’re doing a concert. We’ve prepared diverse and special performances, so you can look forward to it a lot.” He also promised that there will be a song performed at the concert that will really surprise fans.

Bae Jin Young played the piano during the group’s performance at the 28th Seoul Music Awards earlier this month. He said, “Playing the piano was something I said I wanted to do. I like the piano, and fans like it when I play it, so I said I would do it.”

Before he ended the V Live, he encouraged fans to think of his broadcast as a preview of what’s to come. “I’ll wear my uniform and do a V Live broadcast on the day that I graduate,” he promised. “I’ll also do a sudden V Live before I go to sleep.”

Wanna One will be wrapping up their time together with their concerts titled “Therefore” from January 24 to 27 at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
