SHINee's Onew And 2AM's Jo Kwon Join INFINITE's Sunggyu, Ji Chang Wook, And Kang Ha Neul In Musical
The musical “Shinheung Military Academy,” which is headed by the Korean army headquarters-run production company Show Note, will be returning this year with some new faces!
“Shinheung Military Academy” opened its curtains in September 2018 for the first time and told the story of patriots youths at the academy who fought to gain independence from Japan. The musical was created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Korean armed forces, and it will be returning this year for an encore run to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.
The first performance tour, which began in September 2018 and went on till January 6, 2019, took the cast to 12 cities around Korea for a total of 65 performances. The musical featured performances by Ji Chang Wook, Kang Ha Neul, and INFINITE’s Sunggyu, who are all currently serving in the military. All three will be returning for the 2019 encore performances, and they will be joined by two more celebrities who are also serving.
All three roles have been double-cast, with Ji Chang Wook and musical actor Go Eung Sung playing the role of Dong Kyu, Kang Ha Neul and 2AM’s Jo Kwon playing Pal Do, and Sunggyu and SHINee’s Onew playing Ji Chung Chun.
The encore performances of “Shinheung Military Academy” will begin on February 27 and continue on till April 21 at the Kwanglim Arts Center’s BBCH Hall in Seoul.
