Watch: BTS Reveals Look At All The Hard Work And Passion That Went Into Their Epic 2018 Melon Music Awards Performances
BTS has given fans a glimpse of how they prepared for their amazing performances at the 2018 Melon Music Awards!
On January 25, the group shared a new “BTS Episode” that starts with their rehearsals for the show. Their special performance of “IDOL” at the ceremony last December incorporated Korean traditional dances, instruments, masks, and more, with an introduction by J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook that had everyone talking. During their rehearsals, J-Hope and Jimin took turns filming Jungkook as he practiced for footage he used in his own G.C.F video.
The episode goes on to show the group at their dress rehearsal on stage, with Jimin giving a tour of the individual boxes they would be performing in for their haunting intro to “Fake Love.” Jimin and V laughed over how Jimin would shake when V danced in the box next to him, and over how V had been trying to watch Jimin dance but wasn’t able to see him.
The guys monitored their performance of “Fake Love” before having a discussion about the best stage arrangement for “Airplane Pt. 2” and later ironed out some details about using their masks for “Fake Love.”
After finishing their first set of pre-recording sessions, “3J” (J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook) stayed behind to work on rehearsing and pre-recording their “IDOL” introduction performances while the others headed home. RM said, “The remaining three are the coolest members of BTS,” and Jin agreed.
The trio kept up their passion and dedication as they perfected all the details of their memorable performance.
On the day of the 2018 Melon Music Awards, BTS rehearsed their “IDOL” performance and figured out the logistics of their formation for the stage lift. After the guys showed off their stylish looks on the red carpet, they headed to the ceremony.
During the show, they wowed with their performances, making their hard work all worth it. BTS also won a total of seven awards, including two Daesangs: Best Artist of the Year and Best Album of the Year. The video includes a clip of the guys celebrating with all seven of their trophies!
