Band Leader Impresses With His Sweet Voice On "The King Of Mask Singer"
The identity of “Ice Cream” has been revealed on “The King of Mask Singer”!
On the January 27 episode of the show, four contestants continued on their challenge to become the final contender for king. The second battle of the second round was between “Ice Cream” and “Metal Boy.” “Ice Cream” sang first, giving a mellow yet touching rendition of Nell’s “Losing My Mind.”
“Metal Boy” performed with Im Chang Jung’s “There Has Never Been A Day I Haven’t Loved You.”
Spoiler
Unfortunately, “Metal Boy” won the round with 78 votes over 21 votes for “Ice Cream.”
“Ice Cream” took off his mask, revealing himself to be none other than South Club’s leader Nam Tae Hyun. He introduced himself and shared, “Yes, I’ve always said that I want to appear on ‘The King of Mask Singer.’ When I talk, my voice is deep. But when I sing, my voice is thin and high. I wanted to share [with viewers] my voice, and I wanted an opportunity to show my voice without the preconception of ‘Nam Tae Hyun.'”
He added, “I thought I wouldn’t be nervous because I have a mask on. But I think I was more nervous than any show or performance I’ve done.” The other panel members praised the singer for his vocal tone.
“The King of Mask Singer” airs every Sunday at 4:50 p.m. KST.
