Shin Se Kyung In Talks To Appear In New Historical Drama

Shin Se Kyung is in talks to appear in a new historical drama from MBC titled “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” (literal title).

On January 28, a source from Shin Se Kyung’s agency Namoo Actors said, “Shin Se Kyung has received a role offer for ‘Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung’ and is reviewing it. It is one of the many offers she has received as her next project.”

MBC also stated, “It is true that Shin Se Kyung is in talks to star in ‘Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung.’ The drama is scheduled for broadcast in July. It may be broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays and will be a mini series.” The drama will air as a follow-up to “Spring Night” (literal title) produced by Ahn Pan Seok.

According to reports, ‘Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung’ tells the story of women in the 19th century who were frowned upon for writing historical records despite being female. The drama will show the value of change in a society filled with unjust beliefs about gender and social status.
