Former 'Produce 48' Contestants To Debut Through Partnership With Music Streaming Platform

NHN Bugs is diversifying as a company into content creation as it partners with entertainment agencies HOW Entertainment and J Planet Entertainment to launch new girl groups.

NHN Bugs acquired 70 percent stakes in HOW Entertainment in August 2016 and J Planet Entertainment in February 2018. HOW Entertainment currently houses artists like Hwang Chi Yeol and Baek Seo Yi and J Planet Entertainment houses artists like Yurisangja, MASC, and NC.A.

NHN Bugs is the company behind digital music platform Bugs and plans to use its platform to branch out into creating original content through its new idol groups. One of the new idol groups that NHN Bugs will launch, from HOW Entertainment, will include former “Produce 48” contestants Wang Ke and Kim Min Seo.

J Planet Entertainment has already begun their project for their seven-member girl group named First Love.

A source from NHN Bugs stated, “We will put into place a collaborative system with full support for the two subsidiaries. We will create profit through various forms of synergy and strengthen the competitiveness of music content creation and distribution. We will release more details about the girl groups we are launching through HOW Entertainment and J Planet Entertainment soon, so please look forward to it.”
